Effective October 1, 2026
Conference Note helps you record talks, transcribe speech, capture slides, and make summaries and PDF reports. This policy explains what happens to that content.
Speech is transcribed on your iPhone. The app does not save or upload the microphone audio. Transcripts, slide images and extracted text, bookmarks, summaries, and generated reports are stored on your device and synced to your own private iCloud (Apple CloudKit) so your talks survive reinstalling the app or changing iPhone. We cannot see or access that iCloud data; it is kept by Apple under your Apple ID, counts against your iCloud storage, and follows your iCloud settings. If you are signed out of iCloud, talks stay on the device until you sign in. Deleting a talk deletes it from your iCloud and your other devices too. You can share a report using the iOS share sheet when you choose to do so.
When you ask for a talk's notes, for a report, or for its details to be read by pressing Fill, the app sends transcript text and relevant slide text to Conference Note's credit service, which passes it to OpenAI to be written. Bookmarks and existing summaries may also be included in report requests. Nothing is sent on the app's own initiative. Talk details are read only when you press Fill or ask for a report that needs them. Slide images and microphone audio are never sent.
The credit service receives that text in order to pass it on, and does not keep it: what it stores is a count of the tokens used, because that is what your credits are spent in. OpenAI does not use data sent to its API to train its models, and its abuse-monitoring logs may retain prompts and responses for up to 30 days. A summary is written the same way the notes are: by the service, and only when you ask for it.
The app holds no AI provider key of its own. You sign in with your Apple ID, and the app keeps the service's account token for you in the iOS Keychain. What the developer receives is your Apple identity and the email address Apple gives us for this app — which may be an Apple private relay, so mail sent to it is forwarded to you while you keep the relay switched on.
Conference Note does not include an analytics service or an advertising tracker. It has an account with the developer's credit service, described above, which exists to hold your credits, to meter the work you ask for and to let support find you if you ask for help. That account holds your Apple identity, the email address Apple gives us, and a count of the tokens used — no transcript, and no trace of what was said in a talk. The service receives the text needed for the requests you make, but does not retain transcripts, notes, slide text or report content. Microphone audio and slide images stay on your device.
You can delete a talk, remove the app and its local data, and delete your account from inside the app, which removes the identity and the credits with it. Deleting an account settles what is in progress and does not refund credits you have bought — refunds for a purchase go through Apple, which is the only party that can make one. Reinstalling and signing in with the same Apple ID recovers an existing account and balance. After account deletion, signing in creates a new account; deleted credits are not recovered. Local talks are not erased by account deletion.
Before recording other people, follow applicable law and event rules.
